Terms and Conditions – 2023
1. GENERAL
- By making the booking with Kennels you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
- Your Pet, Cat or Dog (“Pet”) is boarded at Difford Kennels and Catteries, Barton Stacey, SO21 3NP (“the Kennels”) at your own risk as the ownerof the Pet.
- During your Pet’s stay at the Kennels they will be cared for by Pippa Moon, the Manager of the Kennels (“the Manager”) and her team (“the Members of Staff”).
- The boarding facilities at the Kennels are individual rooms with private runs.
- The Manager and the Members of Staff will supply all of your Pet’s needs but you are however welcome to bring your Pet’s own bedding and toys. Please be aware such provision by you is at your own risk.
- We supply a number of wet and dry feeds or you may wish to supply your own. In this event please clearly label the food with your Pet’s name and the quantity required for each meal.
- We are allowed to administer medication prescribed by your vet. Please supply it in its original container with clear instructions and your Pet’s name.
- We require that you inform your Vet that your Pet is in the care of the Manager and of Members of Staff at the Kennels. Please provide all of the Kennel’s information to your Vet via email and please copy the Manager into the correspondence regarding your Pet’s stay.
- Any dog will be required to wear a collar and the collar must have an ID tag with your telephone number on it.
- All dogs are taken for two lead walks a day with the Members of Staff. Where possible dogs from the same family will be walking together.
- By making the booking with the Kennels you are agreeing to allow us to take your dog from the premises for the purpose of the daily lead walks.
2. DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
- Your Pet is to be delivered to Kennels between 1.30pm and 5.00pm on the agreed date of delivery (“Delivery”)
- Upon Delivery you will be required to supply the following information regarding your Pet:
- Your full name
- Address
- Contact number
- Emergency contact number
- Your Pet’s Vet details
- Your Pet’s age
- Email contact
- Emergency email contact
- Any dietary requirements for your Pet
- Any medical requirements for your Pet
- You will be required to sign a release form to authorize the Manager and or the Members of Staff to refer to a local veterinary service if it is felt
appropriate.
- With regards to Microchip information and vaccination records of your Pet you must provide the following original documentation when you deliver your Pet:
- Microchip number.
- Up-to-date parasite treatment records (fleas, ticks and worms).
- Up-to-date annual vaccination information.
- Your Pet is to be collected between 8.30am and 12.30pm on the agreed date of collection (“Collection”)
- Failure to Collect or Deliver your Pet within these specified times will incur an extra night charge at the agreed daily rate.
3. DEPOSIT
- Kennels will require a deposit of £10 per night per Pet when you book to secure your booking. Payment will be accepted by phone or by bank transfer.
4. PAYMENT
- The balance of the total amount payable for your Pet’s stay at Kennels must be paid on Collection of your Pet.
- Payment will be accepted by the Manager or the Members of Staff by cash, card (excluding Amex) or a bank transfer.
5. INJURY OR ILLNESS
- If during your Pet’s stay at Kennels an incident or illness affects your Pet you will be notified immediately by the Manager or the Members of Staff.
- Your permission will be sought to refer your Pet to a local veterinary service for consultation and treatment.
- In the event that you cannot be contacted the Manager and Members of Staff will use their professional judgement and refer your Pet to the local veterinary service.
- You will be updated at regular intervals regarding your Pet’s treatment and condition.
- All local veterinary services charges incurred by Kennels for the consultation and/ or treatment of your Pet will be chargeable to you and will be payable by you upon Collection of your Pet.
6. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT TO YOUR BOOKING
- In the event that you need to amend or cancel your booking you must speak to the Manager who will endeavour to accommodate your request, however, if in the sole opinion of the Manager that is not possible it will be necessary to follow one of two paths for cancellation or amendment see below.
- Cancellation
- If your booking has to be cancelled more than 28 days prior to the commencement of your Booking you will be refunded the prepaid
deposit by bank transfer within 5 to 10 working days of your provision of your bank details. - If you cancel after the 28 days prior to the commencement of your Booking your deposit is non-refundable .
- In the event your Booking is made less than 28 days prior to the commencement of your Booking and you subsequently wish to cancel your Booking your deposit will be non-refundable
- Amendment to booking
- If, the Manager, at their discretion decides your request to amend your booking cannot be accommodated a cancellation will be arranged and
your deposit will be returned provided that your request has been made to the Manager no less than 28 days prior to the commencement of your Booking. You will be refunded the prepaid deposit by bank transfer within 5 to 10 working days of your provision of your bank details. - If the Manager at their discretion decides your request to amend your booking cannot be accommodated fewer than 28 days prior to the commencement of your Booking a cancellation will be arranged and your deposit will be non-refundable.
- In the event that you make the Booking less than 28 days prior to the commencement of your Booking and you wish to amend your booking the Manager will attempt to accommodate your amendment but if this is not possible your deposit will be non-refundable.
7. NON – COLLECTION
- If after 14 days from the agreed collection date of your Pet, where we have had no communication from you and the Manager has been unable to contact you, the Manager reserves the right, using their professional judgement, to make the best arrangements for your Pet’s future.
- You will be liable for the payment of all costs incurred by the Manager.
8. DISCLAIMER
- The Manager and the Members of Staff reserve the right to refuse to allow your Pet into Kennels if it is displaying signs of a contagious disease.
- The Manager and the Members of Staff reserve the right to refuse to allow your Pet into Kennels if it displays signs of aggressive behaviour.
- The Manager and the Members of Staff are unable to accommodate un-neutered male cats over the age of six months.
